Meet
Nana, a gentle giant of a girl weighing in around 85 pounds. She
looks to be a purebred Great Pyrenees and even has the double dew
claws on her back paws. Nana is an adult dog somewhere
between the ages of 3-5 years old who was found as a stray in southern
Indiana. A volunteer at the shelter took pity on Nana's heavily matted
coat and began the task of cutting it. Some of the mats were
severe enough that it has left some sore spots on her skin but Nana is so
even tempered that no one would ever guess she has anything wrong with her
and she is healing quickly. Nana
has a very sweet temperament and it won her a spot on the Rover Rescue
transport up north where she could search for her forever home. Nana
arrived to a home with several other dogs and makes it very clear that
she is a lover and wants nothing to do with confrontation. She quietly
ignores the puppy's attempt to play and prefers humans who have loving hands
to pet her. Nana has no issues with any dog regardless of gender or size
- she is a sweetheart and a very easy foster dog to have in the home. Nana
also lives with 4 children ages 2 to 12 and loves to be the focus of their
attention. She was named by the kids because of her likeness to
the dog from Peter Pan who looks after the children.
Nana will join them in the backyard being ever watchful over them, or
she can be found quietly laying by their feet while they sit at
the table doing homework. Nana also lives with a cat who
loves to rub against her, and Nana has no problems with the cat or his odd
behavior. Nana
has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations including bordetella
and rabies. She has been given a dewormer
as well as preventative flea and heartworm medicine. She has proved
that she is not destructive so she is not crated at night nor while her
people are gone. Nana is housetrained. Her adoption fee
is $175. If you are interested in learning more about Nana, please call
her foster mom Mary at 630-585-7927. She will have some questions to
ask and will be available to answer any further questions about this
wonderful gal! |
