Meet
Sweetie Petey, a 5 year old chihuahua who was in foster
care in southern Indiana. His sweet demeanor won him a spot
on a transport up north to Rover Rescue where he has a new foster
family. He arrived with Bullet, another chihuahua foster, and was one
of the most scared dogs to arrive in a long time. He hunkered down deep
into the dog beds and tried to make himself invisible for the first few
days. He has slowly relaxed his body language and raised his
ears. He even tags behind the pack of dogs in the home and
is getting more comfortable each day. He is no threat to any dog
nor the family's cat who is nearly twice the size of
Petey. Petey also lives with 4 children and isn't bothered by
them or their loud noises at all. He is often found in the older
children's room on top of the fluffiest blanket. He seems to like
to sleep in some of the oddest places - the back of the couch, in a
laundry basket or open suitcase, or even among the stuffed animals which
makes him really hard to find! He will need a family who isn't
offended by his shyness and will be patient while he figures out his
surroundings. Once he does, he has a super sweet temperament which is
how he became Sweetie Petey! He also has a
unique easy to care for coat that is dappled with rust-colored spots. Petey appears to be housetrained and makes no attempt
to chew or destroy anything in the home. He has been neutered and
is heartworm negative. He is up to date on his vaccinations
including bordetella and rabies. He is crated during the day when
his foster family is gone and again at night. He is such a submissive cuddler that it probably would not be necessary to
crate him at night as he has shown no signs of any mischievous
behavior. Petey's adoption fee is
$175. Prior to meeting Petey, a phone
interview is necessary. His foster mom has some questions and is
