Know
Quigley
is a four-year-old tri-colored beagle. She came to us from one of the
no-kill shelters in Southern Indiana. She was picked up from a busy highway
by a kind person, and brought to the shelter. This shelter has LOTS of
dogs, and poor Quigley was overlooked time and time again by potential
adopters. She sat there for 8 months before making the trip up to Rover
Rescue. One of the down-sides of being at the shelter for so long was
that she wasn't getting any kind of exercise and gained over 10
pounds. She's also had puppies in her life-time, and has the stretched
out "mommy" belly as a result. She kind of looks like a little pot-bellied pig, but she is oh-so-cute!!!
:) She has started a weight loss routine since she's been with us and
has already lost a few pounds. She loves to go for walks and is looking
for a family that will continue to help her get back in shape!!:) All this being said, Quigley is the sweetest
dog you might ever meet!! She is adjusting to life in a home again, and
we are seeing her personality come out a little more all the time. I
don't think she had much attention in her past life, and is now totally eating
it up!! She's not obnoxious about it, but will rather come
over and stand by you or sit by you so you can love on her.
Quigley is a quite, low-keyed kind of girl. She can be found laying on
one of the dog beds or in her crate most of the time. Her crate seems
to be her security blanket, as she goes there to get away from a loud dog or
a loud noise. She does kick up her heels from time to time, and does
enjoy being with the other dogs. Quigley likes to go for car rides,
LOVES to be outside, loves to chew bones, and will
occasionally drag around some of the toys and put them into different dog
crates that are in our kitchen. She's curious about new things....like
magazines for instance....she didn't try to shred them, but rather has taken
a couple off of our end table and put them into her crate! :) Quigley
is crate trained and mostly housebroken. She doesn't know how to tell
us she needs to go out, so we've had an occasional accident. Quigley
would do best in a quieter kind of home, as she can be skittish around a lot
of commotion or things she's not used to. She would be fine with cats,
or another low-key dog. At the time of this writing, Quigley has been
in my home for over a month and I have definitely fallen in love with this
girl! She is just so sweet and when she looks at you with those big
eyes, it just melts your heart. We are so hoping that Quigley finds the
happily-ever-after that she so deserves. She will make a wonderful
low-key pet for the right family. If you would like to hear more about
Quigley or possibly meet her, please call Colleen at (630)273-2421. Quigley
is spayed and current on all her shots. Her adoption fee is $175, and
she's being fostered in Plano, IL. |
