Shepherd/Basenji mix

Medium Young Female

What You Want to Know

Sissy is a 1 year shepherd mix.  She might be mixed with Basenji because her tail curls up over her back at times and she is more the size of a Basenji than a pure Shepherd.  She weighs approximately 38 pounds and shouldn’t get any taller, but she should put on some weight because she is a little on the skinny side.  She was found on the side of the road and was really scared so she was taken to a shelter in southern Indiana.  The shelter in Indiana didn’t want to let her go because she is so sweet but decided she would have a better chance up here to find her forever home.  She still gets scared and nervous when first meeting people or being introduced to new surroundings, so patience will be required in the beginning. When she gets scared, she crouches as close to the floor as she can get, she shows no aggression though and can be picked up. Once she has gotten adjusted to you all she wants is to be petted and loved. Sissy is good with other dogs and kids.  She is currently in a household with 2 other dogs and after one night she was playing in the back yard with both dogs. Since she is new to the household I do not know if she is completely housebroken or not. She made it through the night without any accidents in her pen. This dog is altered and up to date on shots.  The adoption fee is $175.  To meet Sissy, please call Teri at 630-897-7454.
